Project Name: Puget Sound Energy--Baker
Lake/Alder Creek Site Elk Habitat Enhancement
Scope: Remove Blackberry and small woody plants from grass meadows to allow grass propagation and better elk
access to the forage. Most of the berry
plants are interspersed within the grassy areas. Only a few are impenetrable jungles, which
will most likely be “attacked” later with heavy equipment. Area to be covered is about 2 acres.

Equipment Needed: Tools for removing, cutting
suitable for handling black berry vines
gear suitable for any power equipment—ear plugs, safety glasses, chaps, hard
hat, etc. Will have some safety glasses
available (bring your own if you have them).

proceed to site through DNR gate.
